We Loved Thor

This year, as in years past, Olivia raised a pig for the Clark County Fair.
Except this year our pig was Awesome ! He was a sweet tempered, playful, happy pig and we thoroughly enjoyed him !
The even cooler news is that Not only was he the best pig we've had, but along with Olivia's help, He won Reserve Champion during the Market Competition at the fair.
For those of you who don't speak hillbilly, that means she got 2nd place, and there were only 2 place..... about 50 pigs and Olivia and Thor took 2nd !!
We miss him a great deal and can't wait to get another pig in December.

Ode to my KitchenAid!!

So one of my unadvertised talents is that I LOVE TO BAKE!!!!!

And about 3 months ago I bought the most beautiful Mixer off of EBay.

When it arrived, It was so pretty ! I was inspired by it and decided to start buying things to go in my kitchen that would match the mixer.....
it is Cobalt Blue !!!

So this year RJ decided to play baseball and he did really well !
In fact their team won the pennant !!
These pictures are from opening day. Isn't he handsome ?!!
Anyway he learned quickly how to get the ball and bat to connect and did a heck of a job catching balls out in center field !

Olivia's dream

Olivia wants to be a pastry Chef when she grows up. So this year she started learning to decorate cakes, and then about 2 weeks later entered her first competition at Le Courdon Bleu in Las Vegas. They were timed and had tons requirements that they had to follow.
There were a lot of schools from all over the state and guess what........ Olivia got 4th place. We estimated that there were at least 100 cakes there !! GO LIVI !!

Happy Anniversary Anne and Phill !!!!

So Today March 7th 2009 is Phill and my 1 year Anniversary !
To celebrate we took a trip to Williams, Arizona.
We arrived Thursday the 5th and had dinner and after that we stayed at the Grand Canyon Railway Resort. Then on Friday morning we rode the Train to the Grand Canyon.
On the way there we rode in the Observation dome. We had such a wonderful time and we laughed and joked with our fellow passengers the whole way up there.
When we got there I almost wet myself ! ( not literally). When I looked out over the canyon and realized that there is nothing keeping myself or Phill from going over the edge, my legs shook and my stomach was in knots! It was just majestic, but sooo scary ! We spent 3 hours at the Grand Canyon and then rode the train back to Williams. This time we took the Luxury car ! it was really neat and we got to go out on the back platform while the train was in motion !
We stayed the night in Williams again on Friday night and then after breakfast on Saturday morning we headed home. But right before we left, it started snowing..... so pretty.
It was a wonderful weekend with my sweetie and I am so thankful to be married to my best friend !
